iPhone | Sharing you location with family

Sharing your location with friends and family can be a helpful way to stay connected and keep each other safe. With the latest updates to iOS and macOS, it’s now easier than ever to set up location-based notifications that let you know when someone arrives at, leaves, or isn’t at a specific location. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Open the Find My app on your iPhone and select the People tab.
  2. Select the person that you want to share location-based notifications with.
  3. Scroll down and under the Notifications section, tap Add.
  4. Choose whether you want to be notified of your friend’s location change (tap Notify Me) or notify your friend of your own location change (tap Notify Friend).
  5. Under When, select Arrives, Leaves, or Is Not At. If you’re sharing your own location change, select I Arrive or I Leave.
  6. Under Location, tap to select your current location, or tap New Location to choose a different location.
  7. Under Frequency, select whether you want the notification to be sent only once or every time the location criteria is met.

With these simple steps, you can easily set up location-based notifications to stay informed of your friends’ whereabouts. Just remember to be respectful of their privacy and only use this feature with their permission.
